Rittmeister portemonnaie; production stage four, with the lid lined, the bottom and folds pulled in
Árpád Mészáros
Developed in Vienna between 1880 and 1930, the "Rittmeister portemonnaie" is called "officier" (officer) in France and "Fledermaus" (bat) in Germany. It is a prime example of the finest Viennese manufacture of leather fashion accessories, which emerged from book binding and has always been characterised by choice materials and the most careful workmanship.
